The Steering Column

Well, this is my last letter and I have mixed feelings about it. Mostly thankfulness of all the help that was put forward this year to make it a great year for all.
Your elected officers and board members were always there to do what ever needed to be done. We had a great looking newsletter and roster with Lila Mack as editor and Shirley Brown always willing to help when needed; Donna Gibson keeping up with our website.
First, I want to thank all those that took on the task of a Saturday trip, mystery or otherwise…Brown’s, Henry’s and others. Weekend trips with the Wagner’s and O.C. Adcock.
Then we had our Week’s Trips that were both a huge success, Ives and Quarles– great job.
All of you that volunteered to host each meeting. And of course, Bob and Carolyn Alexander for all their work with each meeting and also for allowing us to use the wonderful facility at Tyner United Methodist Church.
Then to have such a wonderful “Auto Show”- cannot thank Wayne and Carmen McCoy enough. In all the years have been with the club, in my opinion this was one of the best ever. A huge success and the most income that we ever had, to my knowledge. In addition, Wayne was able to give a sizable contribution to the “Police and Firemen Forgotten Child Fund.” Thanks also goes out to all the volunteers that helped them make it a success.
One last thing was the Reliability Tour. Art Ives and Harold Coker worked very hard to make it the longest miles driven, but also one of the best ever. Their efforts spotlighted Chattanooga as one of the most outstanding and friendliest cities in this country. Thanks to all those from our club that helped them make it successful and also spot light our Club as one of the best in the AACA.
What more could I say, except to thank all of our members for such a wonderful year.
